1. Introduction: Media Response is a Ghana-based non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing responsible media communication, civic participation, and public interest journalism in Ghana and across the West African sub-region. The organization works in partnership with media networks, civil society organizations, government institutions, and international development partners to promote informed public dialogue, enhance democratic governance, and improve communication on migration, free movement, and social development issues.
With a particular focus on accurate migration communication, Media Response supports journalists, editors, and content creators to shape narratives that are balanced, evidence-based, and aligned with regional frameworks—including the ECOWAS Protocol on Free Movement, Right of Residence and Establishment, and related continental and global commitments.
2. Purpose of the Call
Media Response is seeking a qualified expert to:
Facilitate training on Digital Content Creation and Mini-Video Blogging with a thematic focus on Free Movement and Migration in West Africa to journalists and media practitioners, in three regions of Ghana: Western, Volta, and Upper East.
3. Scope of Work:
- The selected facilitator shall:
- Design and produce training materials including presentations, participant handouts, and reference materials.
- Develop modules covering:
- Digital storytelling and content creation
- Mobile journalism and mini-video production
- Social media distribution strategies (TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram)
- Ethical reporting and fact-checking on migration
- Countering misinformation on free movement
- Deliver three regional training workshops (one-day in each region) using interactive, practical, hands-on and multimedia-based facilitation methods.
- Provide post-training mentorship and guidance (remote or onsite) for a minimum of 30 days after the training.
- Submit a training report including participant feedback and recommendations for scaling.
4. Expertise Required
- Applicants must demonstrate:
- Proven expertise in digital content production, mobile journalism, social media strategy, and/or mini-video blogging.
- Experience conducting trainings for journalists or media practitioners.
- Understanding of migration communication, ECOWAS free movement, or related policy frameworks (desirable).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to produce high-quality training materials.
- Prior experience delivering assignments for NGOs, media organizations
